OCTOBER 2024 

WY4P participated in the Regional Convergence in so-called Denver marking
one year of genocide and resistance known as:
Shut It Down For Palestine
We also had small demonstrations throughout so-called Wyoming.

SEPTEMBER 2024

WY4P supported VFP and participated in
September Days of Solidarity with Palestine
protesting with 60 Coloradans at the Woodward Plant in Fort Collins.

AUGUST 2024

 Fremont County for Ceasefire Now! & Wyoming 4 Palestine presented:

JUNE/JULY 2024 

Join Wyoming 4 Palestine to learn about the decades long harm being done to Palestinians in the West Bank – and why understanding this systemic oppression is crucial to understanding the broader genocidal violence in Gaza and all of Palestine. This event will also encourage community members to think about the overlaps in the ongoing history of violence between Israel and the United States.

July 1 was in Cheyenne and co-hosted by AZSYP. 

June 27 was in Fort Collins. Thanks to our pals, Northern Colorado Liberation Coalition, for their collaboration.

MAY 2024

5/30/2024: Two of our Wy4P organizers gave a teach-in at the Fremont County Library in Lander about their recent, separate experiences in the West Bank.

5/29/2024: Two of our Wy4P organizers gave a teach-in at the Bourgeois Pig in Casper about their recent, separate experiences in the West Bank.

5/15/2024: One of our Wy4P organizers gave a teach-in online with Highlands Presbyterian Church of Cheyenne about their recent experience in the West Bank.

5/14/2024: One of our Wy4P organizers held a teach-in at the Auraria Palestine Solidarity Camp in Denver about their recent experience in the West Bank.

APRIL 2024: April for Abed!

Wy4P held events in an effort to raise $2,500 for Abdalrahim Abuwarda or “Abed.” Abed is a Wyoming resident and UW student whose three young children and wife have been displaced from Gaza. They are struggling to survive in Egypt. Other of his family members are trapped in Northern Gaza while his wife's family has been displaced to Rafah. We are Wyoming 4 Palestine (Wy4P), a coalition of people across the state calling on Wyoming and the United States to actively resist ongoing genocide in Palestine. We have member organizations from Cheyenne, Laramie, Jackson, Lander, and Casper, with identities ranging from Muslim, Arab, Jewish, Indigenous, Christian, LGBTQIA2S+, folks who have experienced the systemic abuses of the US prisons/immigration systems, and allies. 

We hosted a demonstration outside of the Cheyenne Capitol on the first day of the 2024 Wyoming Legislative Budget Session. Around 50 people attended on the morning of February 12. We chanted for a ceasefire, hosted a “die-in” and moment of silence to demonstrate the gravity of violence in Palestine, and hosted a range of speakers. Speaker topics ranged from a Palestinian Wyomingite calling for safety of his people and country, a Jewish Wy4P organizer urging non-Jews to understand how Zionism negates the peaceful nature of Judaism, two Wy4P organizers discussing the interconnectedness of the United States and Israel imperial projects and their meddling in countries such as Yemen and Honduras, alongside Palestine, and a whole range of other community members who bravely spoke up to end the violence. 

We are emboldened by those who came in solidarity against the genocide and occupation of Palestinians. While one Wyoming State representative came out to introduce himself (and talk down on our cause), we are disheartened by the lack of action being taken by our representatives to actively call to end the genocide in Palestine– and specifically call to stop sending US funds to support this violence. We are grateful that House Joint Resolution NO. HJ0005—a resolution to support the settler colonial, violent nation of Israel—failed to pass the House of Representatives. That is not enough however. We all must actively resist the United States support of the genocide of Palestinians. And our elected officials, in positions of power, must take an active stance. Over 30,000 people have been murdered in Palestine, the majority of those deaths are women, children, and other civilians trapped in Gaza. While it is too late to reverse those deaths—it is imperative that Wyoming takes action to stop further death and destruction.

We are calling on ALL of our state representatives at the 2024 Wyoming Legislative Budget Session, our US senators John Barrasso and Cynthia Lummis, our Congressional Representatives, Harriet Hagemen, and our governor, Mark Gordon to take action now!
